ONS, established in 1998, is responsible for coordinating and controlling the operation of electricity generation and transmission facilities in Brazil's national interconnected system. It also plans the operation of isolated systems in the country. ONS works under the supervision and regulation of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) and includes various stakeholders such as energy companies, consumers, and government representatives.
